PACE

Slow & Balanced

│ DAY 1 — Arrival & Easy Exploration

10:00 – 12:00
Arrival + Settle In (Kuala Perlis / Kangar)
If arriving by ETS or bus, head straight to your accommodation before exploring.
If driving, park once and avoid moving the car repeatedly. Slow start. No rushing inland yet.
12:30 – 14:00
Lunch by the Waterfront
Kuala Perlis is ideal for first contact with the state’s rhythm.
Sea breeze, open sky, simple seafood or laksa. Do not overplan the first meal. Pick a place that feels relaxed.
14:30 – 16:30
Kuala Perlis Waterfront Walk
Walk the promenade.
Observe the fishing boats.
Sit longer than planned. Perlis rewards lingering more than checklist behaviour.
17:00 – Sunset
Optional Short Drive to Kuala Perlis Coastline / Quiet Coastline
If energy allows, a short coastal stop for sunset.
No need to chase “the best” beach.
The light and horizon are the point.
19:30
Dinner (Kangar)
Move inland for dinner if staying in Kangar.
Keep it simple. Avoid cramming too many food stops.

│ DAY 2 — Landscape & Limestone

08:00 – 09:00
Breakfast (Local Kopitiam / Market)
Unpolished is good.
Markets and coffee shops show Perlis more honestly than curated cafés.
09:30 – 12:00
Gua Kelam or Bukit Ayer Area

Choose one, not both.

Gua Kelam → structured limestone cave walk
Bukit Ayer → relaxed greenery + river setting

Morning is cooler. That matters.

12:30 – 14:00
Lunch (Return toward Kangar)
Keep logistics simple.
Avoid zigzag driving across districts.
14:30 – Departure Window
If leaving by ETS, allow buffer time.

If driving, consider a short final stop at paddy fields before exiting the state.

No last-minute rushing.

Plan B

Heavy rain → Replace outdoor segments with:

  • Coffee + slow lunch
  • Perlis State Museum (if open)
  • Extended market exploration

Crowds → Shift to less central coast areas
Heat fatigue → Shorten Day 2, prioritise cave OR greenery only

Local Notes

  • Mondays many places close quietly
  • Google hours often inaccurate
  • Fewer stops = better experience
  • Distances are short, but midday heat is real

One-Screen Summary

Best for slow travellers.
Two relaxed days.
Minimal driving.
Strong waterfront + local food focus.
